Coffee Course Policies

Registration & Payment

  • Use the Registration Form to Register for Classes
  • Full payment is required to reserve your spot.
  • SCA classes also require registration through the SCA learner portal (instructions sent by email).
  • Payment for all SCA classes must be received at least 48 hours before class time to be confirmed.

Cancellations

  • Cancel 7+ days before class → refund minus 10% fee.
  • Cancel 2–7 days before class → 50% refund.
  • Cancel less than 48 hours before class → no refund.
  • All cancellations/reschedule requests must be made by email at [email protected]
  • If Cafe Moto cancels/reschedules a class, you’ll receive a full refund (but we can’t cover travel costs).

Conduct

  • Cafe Moto is committed to providing a safe, comfortable, and inclusive learning environment for all people regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, race, ethnicity, and religion (or lack thereof).
  • Be respectful. Harassment, disruptive, or unsafe behavior will result in removal without refund.
  • Please avoid strong fragrances (coffee tasting requires clear senses).

Attendance

  • Arrive 5–10 minutes early. Students more than 15 minutes late may not be admitted.
  • Classes may run slightly long or short—plan travel accordingly.

Safety

  • We maintain a zero-tolerance policy for harassment, violence, or offensive behavior.
  • Classes may involve hot liquids, steam, sharp tools, or electrical equipment.
  • Follow instructor safety directions at all times.
  • No alcohol or drugs before/during class.

Health

  • Please stay home if you’re sick (COVID-19, flu, RSV, etc.). We’ll help you reschedule.
  • High-risk attendees may ask about remote options when available.

Accessibility

SCA Courses

  • Students must register with the SCA prior to class and provide the same registered email address to Cafe Moto.
  • Registration includes written and practical exams where applicable as well as SCA fees.
  • You get 2 exam attempts (written and practical). If you don’t pass, you’ll need to retake the full course.
  • Written exams are online and must be completed within 21 days of finishing class.
